Ще се възобновят ли полетите в САЩ, ще се отменят ли съкращенията? Relief in sight for Americans as govt shutdown nears end
The House of Representatives advanced a procedural measure aimed at ending the longest government shutdown in US history. The Republican-led House voted 213–209 to move the measure toward a final vote, with President Donald Trump’s backing helping to maintain party unity despite strong opposition from House Democrats, according to Reuters. The stopgap funding bill would restore food assistance programmes, pay hundreds of thousands of federal employees and get the nation’s air-traffic control system back on track.
Democrats expressed frustration that the prolonged standoff initiated by their Senate counterparts did not result in an agreement to continue federal health insurance subsidies.
